Cathie Barrs – Specialist in Orthodontics & Director of Holywell House

Cathie Barrs is a specialist Orthodontist. She qualified from Birmingham in 1993 and completed an MSc in Orthodontics in 2010. Cathie opened the first Holywell House in Hinckley in 2003 and then expanded to Rugby in 2006 and Nuneaton in 2008. She was a part time clinical lecturer at Birmingham University and she has also worked part time in the Orthodontic departments in Glenfield and George Eliot Hospitals. Cathie is currently an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Warwick University on the Orthodontic MSc course and chair of the Leicestershire and Lincolnshire MCN. Cathie combines her professional life with a busy family life which includes four young grandchildren. Cathie has several hobbies including horse-riding and cooking.

Frances Mackay – Specialist in Orthodontics

Frances has worked at Holywell House since 2004, having spent the previous 12 years as Consultant Orthodontist at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester.

She is an experienced orthodontist who did her dental training in Glasgow and her orthodontic training at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London. Frances is interested in all aspects of orthodontic treatment for children and adults.

When not working, she can be found gardening, Line Dancing or walking her border terrier Angus on her favourite Norfolk beach.

Dan Daly – DwSI Orthodontics & Director of Holywell House

Dan graduated from Birmingham University in 2002. He also went on to complete an MSC in Orthodontics from Warwick University in 2010. 2010 was a busy year for Dan as he also got married. Dan is an active gym member and has a keen interest in golf. In 2011, Dan welcomed his first child, a beautiful daughter to the world – she keeps him busy!

Helen Elson – Orthodontic Therapist

Helen works full time as a therapist under the supervision of Cathie and Dan at the Hinckley, Nuneaton and Rugby practices. Helen enjoys her job and making sure her patients feel comfortable and welcome. In her spare time Helen enjoys being outdoors, gardening and sailing.

Lorna Ellis – Specialist in Orthodontics

Lorna Ellis is registered with the General Dental Council as a specialist in Orthodontics.

Lorna qualified from Birmingham Dental Hospital in 2002 and worked as a general dentist in Staffordshire for a few years whilst working towards and passing the exam for Membership to the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (MFGDP) with the Royal College of Surgeons in London.

Subsequently, following a move to Sheffield, Lorna gained a wide range of experience in diverse areas of dentistry including oral and maxillofacial surgery at Sheffield Hallamshire Hospital and Sheffield Children’s Hospital, emergency dentistry in community clinics for unregistered patients andtraining positions in specialist adult restorative care and paediatric dentistry at Sheffield Charles Clifford Dental Hospital. Lorna also held a position as Honorary Clinical Lecturer for Sheffield Dental Hospital. This experience led to passing the exam for Membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) with the Royal College of Surgeons of England, awarded in 2007.

Lorna undertook specialist training to become an orthodontist at Birmingham Dental Hospital and completed the MOrth examination in 2013. In her spare time, Lorna enjoys walking, playing the piano and spending time with her young family.

Katherine Forde – Specialist in Orthodontics

Katherine Forde graduated as a dentist at Leeds University. She worked in general dental practice and completed further exams for membership with the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons, England. She worked in various London hospitals, gaining experience in maxillofacial surgery, oral surgery and paediatric dentistry. During her orthodontic specialist training in Leeds University, she achieved a Merit for her Orthodontic Masters, and completed her orthodontic membership exams at the Royal College of Surgeons, England.

Katherine has lectured nationally, and published literature in dental and orthodontic journals. She has been awarded prizes at both the British and International orthodontic conferences for her clinical research. She is dedicated to providing high quality orthodontics in a friendly environment with an emphasis on life-long results.

Outside of work, Katherine is being kept busy with her baby daughter. Before this, she enjoyed horse-riding, the gym and travelling!

Sharon Dhillon – MSc in Orthodontics and MOrth

Sharon completed undergraduate training at Birmingham University in 1998, qualifying as a dentist. She then spent time working in specialist teaching hospitals, gaining experience in maxilla-facial surgery, oral surgery, orthodontics and general dentistry. In 2002 she passed the Royal College surgical exams and gained Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery. Later that year her specialist training began in orthodontics at Birmingham Dental Hospital. In her three years of further specialist training at Birmingham, she gained a Master of Philosophy in Orthodontics and membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Sharon is on the specialist list for Orthodontics and a member of the British Orthodontic Society. Sharon has been at Holywell House since 2008 and is committed to ensuring her patients receive the highest standard of care.

Pardeep Saini – Specialist in Orthodontics

Pardeep, one of our Specialist Orthodontists, recently joined Holywell House following a three-year postgraduate Specialty Training post in Orthodontics. During these three years, Pardeep worked between Leeds Dental Institute and York Hospital treating a range of complex dental abnormalities with braces, leading to the award of Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and subsequent entry onto the General Dental Council’s Specialist Register. During this training, Pardeep also completed his Masters in Orthodontics (MSc) at the University to Leeds. Prior to his orthodontic training, Pardeep worked in a number of dental specialties including: Community Dentistry where he gained skills in treating children who were afraid of the dentist, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery where he gained skills in oral surgery, Restorative Dentistry – gaining skills in complex dental treatments and finally General Dental Practice. Previous to these experiences, Pardeep received his undergraduate degree in Dentistry from The University of Sheffield. Outside of orthodontics, Pardeep enjoys walking, cycling and spending quality time with his family and friends.

Hari Hunjan – Specialist in Oral Surgery

Dr Harkirat (Hari) Hunjan qualified fromBarts& Royal London Hospital. He underwent further training in oral surgery in London before moving to the West Midlands.He has been providing dental implant and oral surgery treatment in West Midlands and Warwickshire for 30 years.Hari is a specialist in oral surgery with the General Dental Council.

His skills and experience are such that many other dentists in the region refer their patients to him for wisdom tooth removal or dental implants. Hari was awarded the prestigious Advanced Diploma in Implant Dentistry at the RCS in London.

Hari is a member of British Association of Oral Surgery, the Association of Dental implantology,Association of Oral & maxillofacial surgeons, the Society for Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry.

Surendra Shenoy – Specialist in Oral Surgery

Dr Surendra Shenoy has been providing Minor Oral Surgery Services at 44 Dental Care, Leicester for the past four years. He is also employed by a NHS Foundation Trust Hospital of a neighbouring county as a Specialist Oral Surgeon.

Since qualifying as a dentist, for the past 22 years, Dr Shenoy has been exclusively involved in providing Oral surgery service. He has spent most of his career in secondary care Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical units and gained substantial clinical and surgical knowledge in managing more complex cases. Dr Shenoy is one of the GDC registered specialist with an extended competency in Oral Surgery. Over the years he has managed to establish a good rapport with the local dental community and also provides one to one mentoring to local GDP’s in Oral surgical techniques and procedures.

Rajan Nansi – Specialist in Periodontics

Rajan is a Specialist in Periodontics. He graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’ Dental Institute, King’s College London, with a distinction in ‘The Practice of Clinical Dentistry’. he then went on to gain a broad background of clinical experience working in General Dental Practice and the Community Dental Service in the East Midlands, Oral and Maxillo-facial Surgery in hospital departments around Manchester and at Birmingham Dental Hospital in the departments of Restorative Dentistry, Periodontology and Oral Medicine. During this time, he also achieved his Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery and Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Rajan completed his Post-Graduate Specialist training in Periodontics at King’s Dental Institute, Guy’s Hospital London, culminating with his award of MClinDent in Periodontology from King’s College London and his ‘Membership in Periodontics’ at The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Soon after this he was awarded an ‘Honorary Lectureship’ from the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

At Holywell House, Rajan provides a range of advanced periodontal care including both non-surgical and surgical management of Periodontal disease and Peri-Implant disease. In addition to this he also provides a comprehensive range of surgical periodontal treatments including Periodontal Regeneration, Crown Lengthening (Functional and Aesthetic) and Periodontal Plastic Surgery (soft tissue gum grafting).

Vikesh Mody – DwSI Endodontics

Vikesh qualified from the University of Leeds, following which he spent a year travelling and working as a dentist in various parts of Australia. On returning to the UK he carried out multiple hospital posts throughout the country in oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, paediatric and restorative dentistry.

His interest in root canal treatment led to him obtaining an MSc in Endodontology from the Eastman Dental Hospital. He now limits his practice to this area of dentistry.

Vikesh spends part of the rest of his week working as a Specialty Dentist in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital, as well as teaching root canal treatment to undergraduates at the Birmingham Dental Hospital.

Deborah Wilkinson – Hygienist

Deborah wilkinson Qualified in Dental Hygiene At Guys hospital, London in 1985. She has undergone further training over the years to update her skills at Birmingham Dental hospital and is constantly updating her knowledge.

Her attentive and calm manner puts patients at ease and has a gentle approach which is much appreciated by nervous patients.

She is dedicated to her career and strives to educate her patients in achieving good oral health.

In her spare time she enjoys being with her family and walking her dog. Her hobbies include yoga and swimming.

Anna Sammut – Business Manager

Anna Sammut a Director of Holywell House Orthodontics Ltd, she is also is the Business Manager (registered manager and responsible person). After university Anna joined the RAF as a Commissioned officer- she spent 5 years in the RAF and gained valuable management training and experience. She went on to join Holywell House in 2009 and became a director in 2017. Anna is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all the Holywell practices. Anna has two young children (who keep her on her toes) and in the spare time she loves skiing, running and cooking.

Stevie Broomfield – Scanner Technician

Qualified as a dental nurse in 2010 since then she has expanded her skills to dental photography, radiography & impression taking. Stevie also completed her orthodontic dental nurse qualification at Eastman dental hospital in London in 2016. The past few Christmas holidays She has dedicated her free time to help others in need and volunteered her dental skills to the charity “ Crisis” in Camden town London. Stevie is an outgoing creative person and recently got married who loves spending time with her husband enjoying life.

Helen Lawrence – Clinical Manager

Helen Lawrence is our clinical Manager. Helen joined Holywell House in 2009 as an Orthodontic Nurse and has since completed her Level 4 Dental Business Management Diploma. Helen divides her working time between the three sites ensuring the clinics run smoothly. When away from the practice Helen enjoys going to the gym, travelling and spending time with her family.
