What are dental implants?
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are placed into the jawbone to
support replacement teeth or bridges. They are a popular option for people
who have lost teeth due to injury, decay, or other reasons. Implants are used
as an alternative to traditional bridges or dentures.
Here's an overview of how dental implants work:

1. Procedure

Consultation and Planning: We will assess the condition of your teeth and jawbone, using 3D scans to ensure there’s enough bone to support the implant.

Bone Graft: If you do not have enough bone to support the implant, you might need a bone graft. This is a procedure to increase the amount of bone in your jaw.

Placement of Implant: A titanium post is surgically placed into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. This is done under local anaesthesia, and sometimes sedation.

Healing: Over a few months, the jawbone will fuse with the implant through a process called osseointegration.

Abutment Placement: Once the implant has integrated with the bone, a small connector (abutment) is attached to the implant to hold the replacement tooth or crown.

Crown Placement: A custom-made crown or bridge is placed over the abutment to restore the function and appearance of the missing tooth.
